Just like the rise and progress of the telephone in becoming a smartphone, the Metaverse is also a product of technological advancements that maximizes the full potential of the Internet. So what exactly is Metaverse?

Simply put, the Metaverse is an evolved space with a completely immersive environment where people can interact with other people or things virtually. This is an advanced digital space where we connect with people and do things as we do it in the physical world, like physical shopping that turned into e-commerce, face-to-face classes that turned into online learning, and playing games with your friends expanded into playing games with millions of people at once by simply creating avatars.

This was once a vision, now a reality as we live in it and make our lives easier from how we learn, work, and play. However, being in the Metaverse and experiencing all the advancements it provides requires our personal data, and with this, there are rising security and privacy risks, as well as mental and psychological effects on humans.
